PostHeaderIcon Bespoke Kitchen Design – Irish Designs

Regardless of the recession Bespoke kitchens still prove the more popular in our kitchen ranges. The client now wants a kitchen design to stand up to years of wear and tear, a kitchen that stands the test of time and does not date. Colours are in, wood effects such as walnut and oak are still a firm favourite but are most used as design features rather that the whole kitchen. Take a cream painted kitchen for instance, adding a walnut island can be a beautiful feature to a design. I have a recently photographed farrow and ball painted kitchen to show you below. It has the design feature I have discussed above. I have also added some designs that are currently under construction in our factory. We are also selling some of our show kitchens so do stop by our kitchen showroom!

The one good thing about a recession is that companies need to improve in order to succeed. Well some of the major appliance companies are are doing just that. I can see some great products coming to the market that are both unique in design and make life that much easier in the kitchen. Fisher and Paykel have come up with a new style of refrigeration called the CoolDrawer. It has five different temperature settings which can be set to suit the various foods in each compartment. The CoolDrawer has all the functions of a fridge and freezer, it’s a wine cooler, freezer and fridge all in one.

The thing that strikes me about the fridge freezer is how easy it is to incorporate into a kitchen design. You are no longer restricted by height of positioning of the fridge. Food is now at your finger tips without rooting through the shelves of your fridge or freezer to find something. It measures 900mm in width so it has pretty large storage capacity to. I wanted to show you some of the projects I am working on at the moment for our clients. I would say that 70% of our enquiries are for painted kitchens. While this changes from time to time they are a very popular choice with people. Two of the designs below are already underway in the factory – the oak kitchen with painted island and the Farrow and Ball painted kitchen with walnut island. Both kitchens will have Silestone worktops mixed with some solid wood worktops. Our clients on both of these projects have asked for maxium storage with the latest in pull out storage solutions. While Neff is seen to be an expensive option when choosing kitchen appliances their prices have been reduced dramatically. The two kitchens mentioned will have a mixture of Neff and Fisher Paykel appliances. Curved kitchen doors are still proving popular regardless of them not being the most practical for storage but are a beautiful design feature for any kitchen. Kitchen islands are becoming the main feature in all kitchens. Our clients want something unique for the central floor space of their kitchen, they want the wow factor which incorporates practicality.
